How important is the Feng Shui of my garden?

Very important - 70% of the chi in a house comes from the outside. If you start with good chi entering the house then you can work with it for better effect on the inside.

Can a Feng Shui consultant advise on offices and businesses?

Yes!

No business would even think about establishing their premises in Hong Kong without the advice of their Feng Shui consultant - and advice also extends to logo design, corporate colours and location of the financial directors desk! Feng Shui influences business effectiveness as well as wellbeing and productivity of staff.

Will I have to make the Feng Shui changes all at the same time?

No, in fact it is sometimes better to take things a step at a time so you can see what effects the changes are having. But, be guided by your consultant who will tell you what are the most important changes and which should be carried out first.

What form does a Feng Shui consultation take?

Your consultant will have a brief chat with you first to determine what problems, if any, you are experiencing and what aspects of your life you might wish to improve. Then she will go outside to observe the general landscape and the immediate garden, orienting the property and taking specific measurements with the Lo Pan compass. She will need to visit all the rooms in the house to take notes on the room layout, window view and occupancy. The next hour or so is taken up quietly in calculation and analysis, culminating in another discussion about the property and its setting in order to point out to you any irregularities and potential changes.

In a traditional exchange of chi, your consultant is paid at the end of the consultation and a written report is sent to you a few days later.

Is it essential to have a Chinese horoscope calculated as well as the Feng Shui consultation?

No, it is not necessary, but by constructing your horoscope using the year, month, date and time of your birth your consultant can determine which of the five Chinese elements and which of the compass directions are particularly helpful to you. This gives your consultant the opportunity for a further 'layer of influence' with which to harmonise your life. The elements can then be symbolically incorporated in internal decoration, clothing and planting.
